Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has appealed to the Ghana Armed Forces to exercise restraint as they seek to unravel the full facts regarding the lynching of an officer, Capt. MA Mahama of 5th Battalion of Infantry.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Kwesi Pratt asked the Military not to fly into any rage following the incident that occured at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.
According to him, though it's a painful experience; the Armed Forces should act within the remits of the law and ensure the suspects are dealt with according to the country's laws.
Mr. Pratt however condemned the mob attack on the Military officer, wondering how they could assume he was an armed robber.
To him, nothing about the deceased showed any signs of him being an armed robber, asking which armed robber would jog at about 8:30 in the morning.
In his view, the residents might have acted out of paranoia and their fear of armed robbery in the locality.
He explained that the rate of armed robbery in the nation has pumped fears in the citizenry making them become paranoia.
Though condemning the mob attack, he however called for the strengthening and enforcement of the country's laws.
