An Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday granted a GH?60,000.00 bail to a car dealer for allegedly stealing a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle valued at GH?130,000.00 belonging to a businessman.

He is to provide two sureties who should be gainfully employed.

Nurideen Musah, alias Murphy denied dishonestly appropriating the unregistered Toyota Land Cruiser.

He will make his next appearance on July 5.

Police Chief Inspector William K. Boateng, told the Court presided over by Mrs Ruby Naa Adjeley Quaison that Alhaji Hussein Busari is the complainant in the case, and resident of Nima, whilst Musah lives at North Legon, all suburbs of Accra.

He said in September 2018, the complainant bought and shipped an unregistered Land Cruiser vehicle from Germany to Ghana.

He said Alhaji Busari decided to sell the vehicle at GH?130,000.00 and gave same to one Ishmael Baba, a witness in the case to sell.

The prosecution said Baba contacted the accused person for a buyer and under the pretext of having a buyer with ready cash collected the vehicle together with the original documents and went into hiding.

Chief Inspector Boateng said the complainant sensing danger made a report to the police, leading to the arrest of Musah.

He said the accused person in his cautioned statement admitted the offence and confessed selling the car at GH?135,000.00 and pocketing the money.

The prosecution said the accused person in the course of investigations refunded GH?85,000.00 and all efforts made by police to retrieve the remaining GH?45,000.00 have proved futile.

He said after further investigations the accused was charged and put before court.
