Dzodze, Feb. 9, GNA - Joseph Amadonu, a carpenter aged 23, has been arrested with large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp at a Police checkpoint in the Ketu District. Assistant Superintendent of Police Baba Moro, the Dzodze District Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency that a passenger car from Ho stopped at a checkpoint at Tadzewu junction near Metrikasa on the Ho/Denu highway last Wednesday for a routine check.
Police discovered two large wooden boxes that Amadonu claimed belonged to him and that they contained personal effects. Mr Moro said not satisfied with Amadonu's claim the police demanded that the boxes be opened and found out that they were stuffed with dried leaves.
