Castle Militia: Mugabe Maase must be arrested immediately - NPP Communicator

A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Patrick Koranteng Sarpong has written to the Minister for National Security to arrest NDC's renowned journalist, Mugabe Salifu popularly known as Mugabe Maase with an immediate effect for causing fear and panic.

It would be recalled that on Friday, Mugabe Maase openly said it on his show "Insight Politics" on Radio XYZ that the NPP will kill Manasseh Azure Awuni, Joy News' investigative journalist for exposing the government on 'militia group' called the De-Eye Group who have been using the Osu Castle as their training grounds.

He alleged the NPP will kill Manasseh Azure for exposing them within eleven months if the security agencies do not protect him.

"If the security agencies do not protect him they will finish him, they will get rid of him, I speak without fear or favour, this is a gift God has given to me".

He added, "The fake ones (prophets) can come out and say whatever they like but I'm speaking in the spiritual realm. Manasseh Awuni, I am speaking to your parents and I'm not speaking as Mugabe but the Holy Spirit is using me".

"I'm repeating, if the security agencies do not protect him, the NPP will kill him as they did it to Ahmed Hussein Suale. The truth is one and as for me they can't touch me and if you try me you will die first", he said confidently.

He repeated, "I'm saying it again if the security of this country does not protect Manasseh they will take his life at Joy FM".

Joy News reported that a militia group associated with the NPP is being trained at the Christiansburg Castle otherwise known as Osu Castle in Accra.

Manasseh Azure Awuni, in his exposé, revealed that the group named 'De-Eye Group' had been meeting at the facility for close to two years.

President Akufo-Addo is believed to be in the know of the operations by the De-Eye Group at the state facility which is highly classified as a security zone.

Manasseh’s exposé has, however, raised many questions on President Akufo-Addo's recent call for both NPP and NDC to dialogue on disbanding the party militia during his State of the Nation Address.

But in a statement issued by the NPP's Communicator and sighted by Daniel Kaku, he said Mugabe Maase must be arrested immediately to provide evidence of what he said on his show.

"Mugabe Maase must be arrested with immediate effect to provide further details of what he has alleged. We live in a country with laws. We do not live in a jungle where lawlessness reigns supreme", the statement demanded.

The statement opined that if Mugabe Maase is not arrested by the security, they (NPP) would be disappointed.

"If this convict, Mugabe Maase is not arrested to assist in unravelling the mystery behind this evil plan, we may live to regret it", the statement said.

The statement alleged, "We are still grappling with finding the kidnapped three Takoradi girls which, by every instrument of measurement, is linked to the NDC, we cannot sit aloof for these people to commit crimes against Ghanaians just so they could win political power".

The statement concluded, "We wait expectantly for the swift arrest of this criminally-minded NDC journalist, Mugabe Maase".

Below is the full statement;

A LETTER TO THE MINISTER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY OVER MUGABE MAASE

Dear Sir,

Let me distance myself from the use of elaborate sentences and jargons and frontally deal with the issue at hand.

Mugabe Maase, the gentleman who was incarcerated in the infamous 'Montie trio' episode over threatening comments made against the then Chief Justice of the Republic, Theodora Woode, is at it again.

On Radio XYZ, Mugabe Maase has claimed with emphasis that the NPP will kill Manasseh Azure Awuni over his so-called expose on a supposed militia group operating from the Castle.

While I believe that Mugabe Maase still entertains some nostalgic feelings over his short spell in the throes of the Nsawam Prison, his latest allusions should not be taken lightly.

His assertion dovetails into the clandestine meeting held by the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in which they planned to kidnap, maim and kill people and blame same on the Akufo-Addo administration.

Sir, a novice in the affairs of security I may be but common sense tells me that Manasseh Azure Awuni could be assassinated by the NDC over this matter.

Mugabe Maase has just given a hint of what the NDC intends to do within the next couple of months.

Mugabe Maase must be arrested with immediate effect to provide further details of what he has alleged. We live in a country with laws. We do not live in a jungle where lawlessness reigns supreme.

If this convict, Mugabe Maase is not arrested to assist in unravelling the mystery behind this evil plan, we may live to regret it.

We are still grappling with finding the kidnapped three Takoradi girls which, by every instrument of measurement, is linked to the NDC, we cannot sit aloof for these people to commit crimes against Ghanaians just so they could win political power.

In case you are oblivious of their ultimate goal, let me just remind you. The NDC wants to create a heightened sense of insecurity in the country so that they can capitalize on it to ask the electorate to reject the Akufo-Addo Government in the next elections.

We wait expectantly for the swift arrest of this criminally-minded NDC journalist, Mugabe Maase.

Thank you!

Signed!
