Castle security guard brutally assults farmer

A security guard at the Osu Castle is reported to have brutally assaulted a 48-year-old man without any provocation.

Hancel Yeboah is also said to have pulled out his gun and threatened to kill Salifu Abarika Atta, a farmer, for incurring his wrath.

The incident, according to the Crusading Guide newspaper, occurred in front of the ministry of foreign affairs when Salifu cautioned Mr. Yeboah that he had parked his car at a restricted area.

Salifu confirmed the incident to Joy News and said his attacker, who was driving a taxicab had earlier ignored warnings by other people not to park his taxi at the restricted area.

According to Salifu the security guard got angry when he informed him that his car would be towed away if he did not move it.

When JoyFM contacted the Castle for a reaction to the story, the president?s press secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, denied any knowledge of the incident but said an investigation will take place.

JoyFM finally made contact with Mr. Yeboah but he declined to comment saying his boss had told him not to speak to the media.
