Catholic women hold retreat

Toase (Ash), Jan 4, GNA - The Reverend Father James Boakye-Agyemang, Catholic Priest in-charge of the Toase parish, has advised Catholic women to refrain from gossiping, but rather concentrate on activities that would help develop society.

He said gossiping was unchristian and should not be allowed to gain root among Christian women and in the church.

Speaking at the three-day retreat of the Catholic Women's Association in the Kumasi Archdiocese at Toase, Rev Father Boakye-Agyemang said the work of the Lord should rather be their daily concern.

He called on the leadership of the association to treat each member equally without favour since that was the sure way of avoiding unfavourable comments.

Rev Father Boakye-Agyemang asked the members of the association to take advantage of courses being offered by the Pastoral Centre of the Archdiocese to help them in their daily work.

Mrs. Margaret Anane Fosu, National President of the association, asked Catholic women to be committed to the church, pointing out to them that they cannot call themselves good Christians and mothers if they were not committed to the church.

She charged them not to fall short of their obligation to the parishes and the association and also asked them to be prayerful at all times.
