Certain past incidents have given credibility to 'Agyapadie' document - Togbe Afede XIV opines

Togbe Afede XIV is a businessman and Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State

The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has expressed that certain past incidents he experienced as a businessman have given credibility to the controversial ‘Agyapadie’ document.

The document alleges a grand plot instigated by some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and prominent individuals from the Akyem area who are said to have been engaged in the exploitation of the country’s resources amidst concerns of state capture.

Addressing a gathering in the Volta Region, Togbe Afede XIV admitted that he initially did not believe in the authenticity of the ‘Agyapadie’ document; however, recent happenings leading to his businesses being targeted have made him question the legitimacy of the document.

“I found it difficult to believe that, that was a genuine document but of course, certain things we go through gave us thoughts to the contrary. I recall that in 2019 thereabouts, we received a letter for us to sign, pre-written in our names, to resign from the group of companies that advises the government on its bond issues. That came as a shock,” he opined.

“When I reflect on some of these things,” the overlord said, “I begin to wonder,” Togbe Afede XIV added.

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other prominent individuals of the ruling NPP have spoken against the contents of the controversial document, which they believe is a sinister plot by some individuals to spread hate against him, his party, and his hometown.
