Chambas calls for Private sector involvement in educational system.

Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Deputy Minister of the Education, has appealed to Non governmental Organisations (NGOS), Philanthropists and donors to give financial and material support to the running of the country's educational programme. He said as the nation approaches the next millennium it would be difficult for the government to shoulder the burden of education alone because it has to find adequate funds to meet the technological needs of education. Dr Chambas was officially opening an Educational Centre" at Nyanyano near Kasoa in the Central region of Ghana built to replace classes being ran under a tree at the village. The centre was initiated by a British Airways Dispatcher, Mr. Dave Mustill, after he had discovered the bottom tree school during a tour of the area. Fearing that the children will suffer a set back during rainfall periods, he solicited funds from some colleagues to build the centre. The school has two blocks with nine classrooms, a community Sports field and workshop.
