There was mayhem at the East Legon premises of the Zoe Outreach Embassy on Sunday, 23 June 2019 as some angry members of the church, whose investments have been locked up with two companies belonging to their head pastor Kelvin Kwesi Kobiri, stormed the live service to demand a refund.

The angry mob was prevented from entering the church by a horde of police and military men who, in anticipation of the siege, had been contracted by the church to provide security for the Sunday service.

A similar invasion occurred the previous Sunday, thus, the pre-emptive security measures put in place to forestall a repeat.

The angry investors say they were convinced by their pastor to invest into EL Real Estates company as well as Tikowre Capital – both his – but Pastor Kobiri has failed to pay them their dividend and principals since last year.

On their second attempt, the clients thronged the Ogbojo premises of the church with placards, some of which read: “Pay us Kelvin”, “Criminal”, “Duab) benya Kelvin”, among others.

During the melee, a news cameraman and one of the aggrieved customers were assaulted by the security officers who were providing protection for the church.
