Charity Clinic inaugurated at Oda

Akyem Oda, April 8, GNA - A 55-million cedi clinic to provide free medical care to children below the age of 15 years has been inaugurated at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region.

The clinic was constructed and stocked with drugs worth over 20 million cedis by Mr Hassan Sabbah, Managing Director of East Forest Product Ltd(EPL) a wood processing company at Akyem Oda.

Speaking at the inauguration he called on parents to give their children balance diet to ensure their healthy growth and development. He said the clinic was his contribution to the development of the community he had stayed in for 35 years and prayed that God would give him strength to be able to improve the clinic in the years ahead. Mr Sabbah asked parents not to abuse the facility by under declaring the age of their children to enjoy free medical treatment.

In an address read on behalf of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, he called on parents to be more concerned about a better future for their children instead of their numbers.

Mr Osafo-Marfo who is also the MP for Akyem Oda urged parents not to hesitate to send their sick children to the clinic for treatment. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Yaw Amprofi commended Mr Sabbah for his generosity and appealed to other well to do people in the society to emulate him.
