Chicago Branch of NPP donates office equipment to party

Accra, Oct. 25, GNA - The Chicago Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the United States on Thursday presented office machines worth about 10,000 dollars to the party to facilitate activities at the national headquarters.

The items included a computer, a flat screen monitor, a telephone, a four-in-one machine made up of a scanner, printer, fax and copier. Presenting the items, Mr Emmanuel Asiedu, Youth Coordinator of the Party in Chicago, said the gesture was in fulfilment of the a promise the chapter made in 2006 when Mr Peter Mac Manu, National Chairman, visited Chicago.

He called on other overseas branches to support the party. Receiving the items, Mr Mac Manu said the North American branches of the party had always played active roles in the activities of the party. An international desk had therefore been created at the headquarters of the party to handle their affairs.

"With the passage of the Representation of the People's Act, our brothers and sisters have ceased to be mere spectators at elections time and are now very active participants in elections," he said.
