In an interview on Legend Talk Radio a few days ago, the ace musician promised an epic performance to win more “souls” to his Shatta Movement!
Most Chicagoans and Ohioans Ghanaweb.com spoke with are all excited and planning to see the man of the moment in Ghana music circles, perform live! “I cannot wait to see him, I love his music” one converted member of the Shatta movement quipped to ghanaweb.com.
Ghanafest has over the years become a great annual event that depicts not only Ghana’s traditional thanksgiving celebrations, and a cultural exposition of great significance that showcases the diverse and rich Ghanaian culture to the American public and the world at large, but also a day for reaffirming our national unity, identity and brotherhood in the Diaspora!
That is why Ghanaians from all walks of life throng to Chicago to be part of a phenomenal festival like Ghanafest.
The event also showcases the taste of Ghana and African Arts and craft. It is expected to be attended by thousands of Chicagoans and visitors from all around the world.
You cannot afford to miss out on this year’s celebrations as the leadership of the Ghana National Council noted and addressed the concerns of patrons by spicing this year’s festival with the invitation of the hottest musician in Ghana, Shatta Wale, to perform live! Also, they have reduced the attendance fee from $15.00 charged last year to $10.00 per head! Chicago’s own Nat Awuni, a local Gospel music giant, will mount the stage at 12noon with beautiful selections of Gospel Songs.
Top Dee Jays in the Chicago area, such as D.J’s Chief, Bonsu (he was awesome at Linda’s birthday party) and a host of others will also be in attendance.
The organizers of the festival could not have asked for a better day for the festival, as the weather forecast today is perfect. With no rainstorm in the forecast, temperatures will range from 70 to 80 degrees and cloudy all daylong.
Ghanaweb.com will bring to its viewers, pictures of the festival.
