Chicagoan Donates to Kith and Kin.

Mr. Samuel Owusu of Chicago is known for his excellent production of home made digital DVD’s of functions in the Chicago area. Last week, this son of Agona Nyakrom demonstrated his philanthropic nature when he donated assortment of medical equipment and supplies worth over Six Million Cedis to the people of Agona Nyarkrom in the Central Region of Ghana.

The items donated included a Wheel Chair, Stethoscopes, BP apparatus, Blood and IV Giving Sets, Foley Catheters, Bandages, Gauze, and Cotton Wool.

Receiving the items at this year’s Akwambo festival at Agona Nyakrom, Nana Akkofo Katakyi Nyarko Eku X, Omanhene of Nyakrom Traditional Area, thanked the Owusu family for their kind donation and urged Nyakrom citizens home and abroad to emulate Samuel Owusu’s gesture.

The Vice president of the Republic of Ghana, his Excellency Alhajie Aliu Mahama, who was the guest of honor of the celebrations, commended the people of Nyakrom Traditional area for embracing the National Health Insurance Scheme, saying in less than 19 months, the area has recorded 79 percent of the illegible population."National Health Insurance Scheme is affordable and accessible, take advantage of it now because there is no better solution to your health needs”, the Vice President advised the celebrants.

Meanwhile some of the employees at the Nyakrom Health Center noted that shortages of inexpensive items such as Foley Catheter are sterilized for reuse many times leading to infections. They also thanked Samuel Owusu and his family for the timely donation.
