Baffour Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin, chief of Kwapra, near Kumasi, has presented a sewing machine costing 110,000 cedis and a cash of 200,000 cedis to Kronom Primary School. Making the presentation at a short ceremony in the school, Baffour Adu-Gyamfi said it was his modest contribution towards the promotion and development of vocational skills among the pupils. He said education is the bedrock of the development of every society and therefore appealed to parents to send their children to school. The Chief, who pledged his continued support for the school, urged the teachers to avoid laziness and lateness to school and work diligently to help the children to acquire quality education. Mr.. Winfred Siaw, Headteacher of the school, who received the items, thanked Baffour Adu-Gyamfi for the gesture and stressed that the money and the machine would help in the training of the children. He appealed to other chiefs and Well-meaning individuals to donate either in cash or in kind to support the school. Mr.. Thomas Owusu-Ansah, Assembly Member for the area, called on chiefs in the area to come together and work out plans to ensure the effective development of the schools in the area and the communities in general.
