Chief appeals for clinic

Nkoranza (B/A), April 21, GNA - The people of Nyinase in the Nkoranza South District have appealed to the District Assembly to provide a community clinic in the area

Nana Baffo Agyei, Odikro of the area told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the people of Nyinase and its surrounding settler communities travel a distance of more than 12 kilometers to attend the nearest health facility at Nkoranza. The chief said the people found it difficult to get means of transport in the night to convey a sick person to Nkoranza and expressed his concern about how many expectant mothers suffer when in labour.

He appealed to Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, to expedite action with the District Directorate of Health Services to provide a clinic to the area. Nana Agyei gave assurance that the people were ready to offer communal labour for the completion of the health facility. The Nkoranza South District Assembly is constructing a six-unit classroom block with a library and a place of convenience for the Community Primary School at Nyinase.
