Chief offers 10-hectare land for vocational school

Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 25, GNA - Nana Okofo Nyarko Gyabaa, Chief of Busunya in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo has released 10 hectares of land for the construction of a vocational school in the area. The construction of the school is to be funded by Mr Kwame Afosah, an Accra-based citizen of the area and proprietor of Standford International School at Teshie in Accra.

He told Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza it was his concern to ensure that the youth in the area acquired vocational skills that would help them to become self-employed.

Mr Afosah expressed grave concern about how most of the male youth engaged in farming when they could further their education, while the girls would enter into early marriages and later become dejected in life. "Such problems are affecting the development of the area and there is no hope for the unemployed youth", he said. Mr Afosah commended Nana Gyabaah for his concern for the development of the youth of Busunya. He urged other traditional rulers to emulate the chief by initiating programmes that would enhance the development of their areas
