Chief prays for nation's leaders

The chief of Suhum-Zongo in the Eastern Region, has prayed for wisdom and strength for the leaders and authorities of the country.

It was one of the usual monthly prayer meetings organized by Chief Abubakar Gariba.

The congregation prayed for the President and his Vice, Ministers of State, Parliamentarians, members of the Judiciary and others in responsible positions.

Chief Gariba told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) shortly after the prayers that, those elected or appointed to responsible positions, needed prayers and peace to enable them focus attention on the progress and development of the country.

He reminded Ghanaians that it was through prayers that the fortune of the country could be realized, and called on Imams in the county to pray unceasingly for those in government.

The chief also asked those appointed to high positions, to go on their knees, to enable Allah to shower blessings on the country.

Chief Gariba said traditional rulers have a vital role to help government move the country forward, and also uphold the peace, by resolving issues emanating from petty squabbles.

He said the youth have a task to forbid indecency, and contribute to national development, and urged them to set their priorities right, and develop a holistic approach to education in order to understand virtues and moral values.

Chief Gariba appealed to the government to support the youth, by creating more jobs, to enable them desist from indulging in negative tendencies.
