Chief rehabilitates roads

Hansua (B/A), April 26, GNA - Nana Apenteng Fosu Gyeabour II, Chief of Hansua in Techiman Municipality is funding the rehabilitation of roads in the area at a cost of 100 million cedis. The Chief, who is also the Bamuhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, told Ghana News Agency his objective of funding the project was to help improve economic activities in the area. The construction of the roads and streets would make the area accessible to allow farmers to cart their foodstuffs to marketing centres.

Nana Fosu assured the people of his readiness to help develop the area and appealed to them to help initiate more self-help development projects to win the support of the Municipal Assembly and the government.

The Bamuhene called on parents to join the crusade against social vices amongst the youth and use their resources to help raise the educational standards in the area.

He appealed to the Municipal Assembly and the Department of Urban Roads to include Hansua, Brigade and James Town areas in the construction of drainage systems and culverts as well as tarring of the roads to avoid erosion during rainy seasons.

Meanwhile, the Chief has released a 10-acre land at James Town near Hansua for the development of a community park, which he is also funding.
