Chief warns community against land litigation

Papaase (GA), June 28, GNA - Nii Quarshie Nettey opinion leader of Papaase near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region has called on chiefs and landlords in the area to put an to land litigations and multiple sale of lands.

He also called on them not to use land guards to settle disputes. Nii Nettey made the call at a durbar to run off the annual Kotobiri Ahobaah festival by the chiefs and people of Papaase at the weekend. He advised the people rather to contribute towards meaningful development projects though self-help spirit and voluntary contributions.

Nii Nettey said land guards did not have the expertise to settle land disputes but were noted for destroying properties as well as posing as a threat to life.

The opinion leader commended the Ga District Assembly for the construction of a school and library blocks in the town, which, he said, would enhance teaching and learning in the area.

He said a land had been offered to the assembly for the construction of a sports complex to improve the quality of sports activities in the area and appealed to the World Vision International, a non-governmental organisation to come to their aid in support of education structures and other meaningful developmental projects.
