The Police service is Tuesday morning deploying more personnel to Bole in the Northern Region to strengthen security on the ground.

The Interior Ministry on Monday imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the town after a chieftaincy clashes left one person dead and three seriously injured on Sunday.

The Northern Regional Police PRO, DSP Yusif Tanko they’ve asked the National Headquarters to deploy more personnel as the situation is further heightened by the upcoming funeral of the late overlord of Dagbon.

“For the funeral we’ve made adequate preparation, our numbers on the ground will not be enough so we’ve requested men from Accra and even about a hundred of them will arrive in Tamale on Monday night so surely we’ll get more men to police the funeral.The hundred men coming are not the only ones more will be coming and we’ll have enough men that we’ve requested from the Headquarters and they’ve given us the assurance that those men will be brought to augment our strength here so that we can discharge all those duties effectively” DSP Tanko told Joy FM.
