A child welfare organization set up by the Child Health Directorate of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has received cash donation of GH?5,000.00 to support its activities.
The organization, “Little Steps Foundation” has been paying the medical bills and buying expensive drugs for treatment of kids born to poor families, admitted at the referral facility.
The cash gift was made to it by Toyota Company Ghana Limited.
Mr. Tetsuya Suematsu, Managing Director of the Company, said it was their contribution towards efforts at providing quality health care, especially to children.
It had been consistent in its support to the hospital – making available to it hospital beds, television sets and assorted medical equipment.
Mr Suematsu said he was confident that the money would go a long way to reduce the frustration of both family members and health officials and bring down child mortality at the facility.
Dr. Mrs. Gyekua Plange-Rhule, Paediatric Consultant at the Directorate, who received the cash, thanked Toyota Ghana, for its tremendous assistance to the facility and child’s health care.
She said the cash gift would without doubt to ease the burden of poor families, seeking better health care for their children.
Dr. Plange-Rhule, the brain-behind the Foundation, appealed to other corporate bodies and individuals to be part of the effort to give help to sick children.
