Chinese Ambassador calls on I. C. Quaye

Accra, Oct. 24, GNA - The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Yu Wenzhe, on Wednesday said the friendship between Ghana and China was becoming deeper and wider and urged the two governments to continue supporting each other to maintain the relationship. He said Ghana and China supported each other in many fields, especially in Information Communication Technology, energy and infrastructure development. Mr. Yu, who is four months old in the country, said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Sheikh Ibrahim C. Quaye in Accra. He pledged his country's preparedness to partner with Ghana in ensuring that the relationship would improve the everyday lives of the people.

Sheikh I. C. Quaye said China's support in Ghana's infrastructural development and managerial skills had made the country one of the most developed in West Africa. The Minister said China's financial support for the Bui Dam, the energy and road sectors spoke of the strength of the relationship between the two countries. He therefore invited the Ambassador to join the Association of Friends of Accra and assist in the fight against mosquitoes in the region.

"Our aim is to spray the region regularly to prevent residents from having malaria parasites," he said.
