Christians should not be greedy – Pastor Obeng-Tuffour

The Mampong-Worakese District of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, has launched its 80th Anniversary Celebration with a call on Christians to lead simple and modest lives.

Pastor Patrick Obeng-Tuffour, the District Minister, said this was the way to avoid getting ensnared in corruption.

They need to provide leadership to purge society of greed and unbridled lust for wealth and power, he said.

Activities planned for the year-long celebration include leadership training, workshops, donation to needy institutions, and crusades to spread the Gospel.

Pastor Obeng-Tuffour urged Christians to focus on the pursuit of the truth without which there could not be unity in society.

He encouraged the rich in the church to do more to support the poor and the vulnerable.

He announced plans to aid its unemployed members to lift them from poverty.

The church has over the years, made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the nation, and would continue to sustain the partnership with the state, he added.

The District Minister said they would intensify their efforts towards the promotion of quality health care and education.
