Christians urged to be appreciative of God's grace

Claasic fm Techiman B/A; The Parish Priest of St. Paul Catholic Church in Techiman, Rev. Fr. Boakye Gyan on Sunday advised Christians to be appreciative of God's grace for the improvement of society. He said Christians should not pray for themselves alone but they should intercede on behalf of others, the society and the country.

Father Boakye Gyan advised members not to allow themselves to be swayed by circumstances but always remain loyal to God and the Church and give out their best in the service of the nation and mankind.

He made the call in a Homily at a special colourful Thanksgiving Service by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zeini to climax their marriage ceremony held in Accra fortnight ago. Speaking under the theme "Encountering Christ", Rev.Boakye Gyan asked the public not to continue to highlight negative things but consider problems as challenges and work to overcome them.

Rev Boakye Gyan urged them to maintain and firmly uphold the good name of Jesus Christ and virtues of humanity to enable them become good. He held that Ghanaians have become so much self-centered that they forgot about the wellbeing of their neighbors. "Where is our cherished value of hospitality which we used to be proud of? These days all these seem to be a thing of the past," he reiterated and called on Christians not to give up in times of difficulty rather, they should persist in prayers as stated in the Bible.

The Catholic Priest charged mankind to stay focused, determined and always have faith in the Lord for them to overcome obstacles that were hindering against their progress. He appealed to the youth to shun negative lifestyles and foreign cultures that had the tendency of leading them into trouble.

He stressed the need for the church to work hard to reverse immoral practices and other social vices that had plagued the society

Rev. Boakye Gyan observed that the nation could be healed of its challenges such as the current energy crisis, poverty, immorality and reported cases of murder through consistent prayers and a good lifestyle. Christians.

On his part, Mr. Fred Zeini who is also the Managing Director of Classic FM expressed his profound gratitude to all members of the church, friends and stuff who had contributed to his matrimonial ceremony with materials, money, time, labour and prayers to ensure a success of the programme.
