Christians urged to fully accept Jesus Christ

Accra, April 11, GNA - Reverend Fitzgerald Odonkor, President of Harvest International Ministry, on Friday asked Christians to fully accept Jesus Christ into their lives in order to benefit from the significance of the death of Christ at Calvary. Speaking on the theme, "total victory" at the church's musical concert in Accra dubbed "Harvest Praise 2009" Rev. Odonkor said Christ's death brought a reunion between God and man. He said the union that Christ restored opened a door for all humanity to come to God with boldness. He said whatever man could not do under normal circumstances, Christ defied the laws of nature and his death permitted us to do what we previously could not do or achieved. Rev. Odonkor said the death of Christ remained a mystery to the world adding, "God was not thirsty for blood that was why he needed the death of Christ to atone for the sins of men. There was the need for a sacrifice of a holy person who qualified to intercede for the sins of humanity.

"Christ therefore, came as one without blemish to atone for our sins and His blood was able to write-off the repeated sacrifice of men each year to ask for forgiveness", he said. He mentioned some of the benefits of Calvary as leading to an equal inheritance of all promises made by God to mankind as stated in the Bible and a new sense of reconciliation. Rev. Donkor said the death of Christ also brought happiness, wiped away darkness from the earth and the earthquake that occurred immediately after His death signified a new revival for all. He also mentioned that the death of Christ was able to transform man's heart and mind in a way that man was now qualified to have God dwell in him.

Rev. Odonkor, therefore, advised Christians to take advantage of the resurrection power of God saying: "Christians must not loose heart because whoever takes full advantage of this revival shall have his liberty from all calamities on earth". Funds generated from the offering at the programme in partnership with Citi FM, a local radio station, were given to the Baptist Complex School, an orphanage at Suhum and Mama Lardi Forster Home at Bolgatanga.
