Church Members Go After Bishop Aduhene

SOME FOLLOWERS of a Chiraa-based pastor who swindled his wife and absconded have promised to assist the woman retrieve some of the items the bishop took away.

Bishop Kofi Richmond Aduhene aka Kalipo, the Founder and Head Pastor of Promise Miracle Church at Chiraa, near Sunyani, reportedly conned his heavily pregnant wife who was then at the labour ward, sold the house in which they lived and run away.

His 25-year-old wife, Doris Addison, who is nursing their four-month-old son, is currently homeless and depends on the benevolence of some neighbours for her survival and that of her son’s.

Bishop Kofi Richmond has since been on the police wanted list for his action. He is believed to be hiding in Kumasi.

After DAILY GUIDE broke the story last Wednesday, a section of the defunct church members popped up and informed the police that they would help retrieve some of the items for the bishop’s wife.

According to them, the bishop, before running away, gave them some valuable items for their loyal services to him.

Forty-year-old Kofi Kumi, an elder of the defunct church, yesterday told DAILY GUIDE that as the right-hand man of the run-away bishop, he was given a TV set, video deck and a double-deck refrigerator.

He said three others also benefited. Kwasi, son of Mr. Amankwaah, was given a bed, while Kwasi Burgar was given a TV stand and a multi-purpose amplifier. Ataa Elizabeth also received a gas cylinder, burner, aquarium, kitchen cupboard and cooking utensils, among others.

Mr. Kumi said they had met with the bishop’s wife so as to arrange to return the items to her. He promised to talk to his colleagues to also return theirs.

According to the church elder, the bishop sold the four-bedroom house for GH¢7,500 and fled to an unknown destination.

When asked whether the bishop made known his intention to leave town, Mr. Kumi said the bishop made his intentions known to a section of the church elders after telling them that the place was no longer convenient for his stay.

The bishop however failed to tell him where he was going.

DAILY GUIDE’s checks have established that the con bishop used to operate in Sunyani but was compelled to desert the capital after he apparently duped some unsuspecting people.

He later moved to Chiraa and exhibited similar conduct. He is believed to have secretly married about four more women besides his wedded wife, alongside dating several other ladies in the area.

Doris Addison said that she was in labour at the hospital about five months ago when news got to her that her husband had packed all his belongings at their Chiraa house and deserted the town after selling the house.

The woman has revealed that the bishop lied to her by bribing some people to act as his biological parents during their marriage ceremony. The supposed parents, according to her, had all vanished into thin air.
