The Concerned Clergy Association has blamed President Akufo-Addo for the arson attack on the Believers House of Worship Church on the Spintex Road.

Gun wielding men, clad in NPP colours,on Monday,August 28 set the 2000 seating capacity church building ablaze.

Head pastor of the church Rev Abraham Lamptey told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr that the land on which the building is located is a subject of a court battle. According to him the men who torched the building had visited the venue 3 months ago and set their store house on fire.

“I saw this coming because three-four months ago, the same group of thugs came in the same pickup and set the store house on fire, we reported the incident to the Manet Police they came around and did their investigation.

The next day we followed up and they told us if we find the suspect we should bring the suspect to them only for the to come back yesterday and burn the whole place”.

Reacting to the incident, president of the concerned clergy Association Bishop Benny Wood said the attack happened because President Akufo -Addo has failed to deal with acts of violence in the country.

“I will put the blame directly at the door step of the President, we have not arrested the people to find out whether they are members of the NPP. If they came there with NPP pick up and they were NPP people who gave them that power to do that. All things point to the fact that their Political party owns this nation and once that political party wins power they become the owner of Ghana and can do whatever they want.”
