Bishop Columbus Appiah, Founder and Leader of the Church, said at a special fund-raising harvest, held in aid of the project on Sunday that as Christians, their faith enjoined them to bring comfort to the poor, the deprived and the disadvantaged.

He said the Church has taken upon itself the responsibility of catering for about 80 orphans and street children. "We are just not feeding, clothing and housing them, but also pay for their medical bills and school fees at the basic and senior secondary school levels.

Some are also undergoing apprenticeship in plumbing and electrical works through our benevolence."

Bishop Appiah appealed to the well to do in society, to contribute to charity, saying, "let us not leave the burden on the government alone".

Mr Atta Adade, the District Social Welfare Officer, praised the church for the initiative and called on other organisations to emulate the example.
