Ejura (Ash), Aug.30, GNA - Reverend Steve Asante, Vice President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, has charged members to rededicate themselves to the unity of the Convention to ensure its growth and sustainability.
He asked them to develop new attitude towards the course of the Convention and remain united to proclaim the word of God to mankind. Rev Asante was delivering the sermon at the ordination of 36 new pastors of the Convention at Ejura in the Ejura-Sekyedumase District of the Ashanti Region.
He regretted that some branches of the convention, especially the well endowed ones were refusing to assist distressed ministers of the convention financially, and said such attitude threatened the unity of the convention.
Rev Asante said "where there is unity the people are bound to progress and advised members to resolve to pray to ensure greater unity among themselves to be able to influence and win more souls for Christ." He advised the new pastors to endeavour to develop the potential of their members to enable them contribute to the growth of the church. Rev Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, President of the Convention, who ordained the new pastors, reminded them of the task ahead and advised them to constantly pray for God's guidance in the performance of their pastoral duties.
