Church of Pentecost celebrates Women's Movement Week

Accra, Nov. 04, GNA - Pastor Isaac Ekow Eshun, Roman Ridge District Head of the Church of Pentecost, has called on parents to take active interest in the education of their children. This, he said, would improve the living conditions of the parents in future and enable them to contribute to national growth and development. Pastor Eshun made the call at the opening of the Women's Week celebration of the Roman Ridge District of the church in Accra on Wednesday. It is under the theme; "Serving God of the Living and the Changing World".

Some of the activities planned for the celebrations include evangelism, lecture and Soul-winning. Pastor Eshun said it was only when children were given proper education that they could contribute to national development. "If children are not given proper education, they would be loitering in the streets and indulge in negative activities which would hinder national development," he said.

He appealed to the women to nurture their daughters to refrain from indecent dressing which he said had eaten deep into the fabric of society. Pastor Eshun advised them to desist from insulting their children which affected their mental well-being. He appealed to drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol and make this year's Christmas accident-free. Mrs Vida Fianko, District Women's Leader, said the movement would continue to play a leading role in the activities of the church. She said the Movement would champion the cause of unity and oneness among its members and the church as a whole. 04 Nov. 09
