Church of Pentecost district mission house and office inaugurated

Kumasi, May 22, GNA - A 1.4 billion-cedi Mission House and Office complex of the Bompata district of the Church of Pentecost was on Sunday inaugurated in Kumasi.

The three-storey building comprising eight bedrooms, two sitting halls, offices, a conference room and two garages, was funded through contributions from members, and the Area Infrastructure Development Fund of the church.

Performing the dedication ceremony, Apostle Dr Michael Ntumy, National Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, said God has fulfilled his promise to the church.

He hoped that the house would be that of the Lord and to His glory and wished that those who would live in it would be blessed and prosper. Apostle Ntumy asked that God protect the house from evildoers and all dangers and said the house would be used to serve the church. Delivering the sermon, Apostle Ephraim Kobla Barabu, Kwadaso Area Head of the Church, expressed concern about false teachings by some ministers of the religion and anti-social activities in the country. He said in spite of all these, the word of God remained unchanged and urged Christians to always fight for the truth.

He stressed the need for Christians to refrain from all wicked deeds and lead good Christian lives that would not only change the lives of people but would also draw them to God.

Elder Samuel Sefa-Boakye, Chairman of the Project Committee, said the project was started in July 2003 in preparation for the pastors of the church who were living in rented homes.

Speaking on the history of the project, he said, Rev Dereck Mireku, the then District Pastor of the church and the project committee organized an all inclusive sponsorship drive, which yielded a substantial amount of money for the commencement of the project. Elder Sefa-Boakye commended all those who contributed, in both human and material resources for the completion of the project, which had really projected the image of God. 22 May 06
