Churches urged to provide jobs for the youth

Obuasi (Ash), May 20, GNA- Mr Richard Aboagye, Amansie East District Chief Executive, has asked the Church to work in partnership with the government to provide leadership training and create jobs for the youth.

He said it was by so doing this that society could assure itself of responsible young men and women ready to play meaningful roles in national development.

Mr Aboagye was inaugurating the Adventist Youth Federation of the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church at Obuasi in the Adansi West district.

The District Chief Executive noted that when the youth are adequately occupied they would become less inclined to criminal and other social vices.

Mr Aboagye advised members of the federation to be at the forefront of the national crusade against indiscipline.

"Help spread the Adventist message that teaches against reprehensible lifestyles such as pre-marital sex, alcoholism, narcotic drug abuse, disrespect and lawlessness".

Pastor Israel Nana Tuffour, President of the South Central Ghana Conference of the Church, told the youth to stand up against all forms of temptation.
