Civil Servants urged to eliminate waste in the system

Donkorkrom (E/R), Aug. 28, GNA - The Afram Plains District Chief Executive, Mr Solomon Fordjour, has called on public and civil servants to eliminate waste by cutting down cost in their operations, so they could work within their annual budgetary allocations. He said this would enable the district assemblies make effective use of their limited resources and other assistance from the Central Government to improve the standard of living of the people in the communities.

Mr Fordjour was addressing his first meeting with district heads of decentralized organizations and other public institutions at Donkorkrom on Thursday, since he assumed office a month ago. He said as agents of change, they should explain government's policies and programmes to the people and warned against using state facilities and official working hours for their personal and political activities.

The DCE said as a liberal democrat, he would run an open administration and urged the people, irrespective of their political affiliations, to unite and co-operate with him to tone down the political diversity in the area.

The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr Thomas Ba-Inyimaye, assured him of the effective co-operation of all the heads and staff of the institutions to enhance development in the district. He urged them to be punctual at work and avoid all negative tendencies that would delay the development of the district.
