Civil Society Groups for Good Governance honours FOCOS Hospital

FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital received two awards and two medals from the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) Nigeria in a brief event held some days ago at their facility in Pantang.

Comrade Ogakwu Dominic the President of CSGGG together with Anthony Iji presented the awards and medals to FOCOS. “CSGGG selected FOCOS for these awards because of the record number of international patients that come for treatment at your facility and the giant strides you have made towards bringing comprehensive healthcare to sub-Saharan Africa at a very subsidized and affordable price,” Comrade Ogakwu said. He also commended FOCOS for creating job opportunities for the members of the community and providing them with security.

The two awards and two medals included: Best Medical Tourism Hospital in Ghana, Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei the Founder and Distinguished Service medals to both Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei and Dr. Joseph Ogyaadu the Medical Director. The awards were received by the Senior Finance Manager, Edith Nkrumah and Mavis Kwateng, the Director of Nursing on behalf of the hospital.

Civil Society Groups for Good Governance CSGGG is a credible alliance of over 139 civil society organizations working together to safeguard democracy in Nigeria and the Africa sub-region through a Robust Policy Advocacy Framework (RPAF) and Integrated Leadership Development Model (ILDM). CSGGG offers policymakers and leaders in all spheres of influence an alternative platform to join the narratives for the advancement of Nigeria through a national consciousness that is far removed from partisan politics, religious sentiments and ethnic affiliation.

FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital is a 70-bed Specialist Orthopaedic Hospital located in the Pantang area of Accra, Ghana and is noted for the treatment of complex spine and joint diseases like Scoliosis, Arthritis of the joint as well as other degenerative and deformative Orthopaedic conditions. The hospital will soon commission its Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine.
