Cocaine Saga: Alhaji Dawood is an NPP financier – Sam George

The man on the run over the Nayele Ametefeh cocaine saga, Alhaji Mohammed Alamid Dawood, is a known financier of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel George Nettey has alleged.

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) declared Alhaji Dawood wanted for allegedly helping Nayele Ametefeh, the suspect busted with 12.5 kilogrammes of cocaine, and her two friends to use the VIP Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

The wanted man, also known as Alhaji Sani Dawudat, according to Samuel George, is the Business Development Manager of KELM Engineering Limited at Kanda in?Accra.

Samuel George Nettey revealed that KELM Engineering Limited was contracted by the erstwhile Kufuor government to construct the Flagstaff House.

He insisted that Alhaji Dawood is a known financier of the NPP, daring the opposition to come out and deny his allegations.

“Alhaji Dawood is the Business Development Manager of KELM Engineering that is based in Kanda. KELM Engineering was part of the sub-contractors that Kufuor contracted to build the Flagstaff House. He is a known NPP financier,” Samuel George Nettey told Alhassan Suhuyini on Radio Gold’s current affairs programme, Alhaji and Alhaji, Saturday.

He also alleged that the flagbearer of the NPP, over the years, has enjoyed financial support from drug barons including David Anim (owner of Le Baron Hotel) who was recently busted with cocaine in the UK.

“Everybody knows that the NPP is full of drug barons. We will run the 2016 campaign on the discussion of narcotics. It is a ponderous box the NPP has opened, and it will retire Nana Addo in 2016 because Nana Addo cannot be distant from the narcotic trade in this country,” he exclaimed.

Alhaji Dawood is reported to have called Abiel Ashitey Armah, a Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of the VVIP and VIP Unit of the KIA, on phone to allow the ladies to use the VIP Lounge and also help them onto the tarmac to board the airline for London.
