The Cocoa Research Co-operative Credit Union Limited (CRCCU) has donated eight (8) Dell desktop computers and accessories to the CRIG MA Junior High School (JHS), at New Tafo-Akim.
Speaking at the donation on Friday 20th January 2023, Dr. Richard Adu Acheampong, Deputy Executive Director of CRIG in Cocoa & Kola emphasized that computers were indispensable in education.
‘The world has now become a global village and those who are not ICT inclined would be left behind. Therefore, our children must be ICT equipped to be to able compete in this digital competitive world, he said.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Board of Directors (BoD) and Management of CRCCU, Dr. George Akumfi Ameyaw Board Chairman said that the gesture was part of the Union’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) in the area of education to offer students the opportunity to equip them with the requisite information communication technology (ICT) practical skills and broaden their knowledge.
He added that this would also facilitate the research work of teachers to boost their service delivery and improve upon the performance of students, particularly in ICT.
Receiving the items on behalf of students and staff, Mr. Joseph Anhwere, Headmaster of the School expressed gratitude to the Management and Board of the Credit Union for honoring their request to the Union for computers.
Mr. Anhwere was optimistic that the acquired computers would be put to good use in order to improve performance and ease the cost of education in the school as they educated the children to be future leaders.
