Comet Properties, a real estate development company, has furnished a newly- constructed District Police Headquarters at Juaso in the Asante Akim South District at the cost of GH? 17,537.00.
The set of furniture included chairs for visitors, executive swivel chairs and desks for officers as well as the District Commander's office.
The ultra modern office complex constructed by the District Assembly is now ready for use with the provision of the furniture.
Mr Kwaku Kyeremateng, Chief Executive Officer of Comet Properties, said the donation was in response to a joint appeal from the District Chief Executive, Mr Degraft Forkuo and the District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Sandow Latebu.
He said the provision of quality security to the populace is a shared responsibility for all especially corporate bodies.
He expressed the hope that the furniture would provide some comfort for the officers to discharge their duties diligently.
Chief Superintendent Alex Amenyo, the Konongo Divisional Commander, lauded the company for the gesture which he said would enhance the work of the Juaso Police.
He called on other corporate organisations to emulate the example of Comet to complement police effort at fighting crime.
The Divisional Commander also commended the Assembly for putting up the edifice and gave the assurance that the facility would be properly maintained.
Mr Forkuo praised Comet for their support to various public institutions in the district over the years.
He said the company is contributing to the Assembly’s efforts to improve the lives of the people and commended the Chief Executive Officer for the on-going construction of an accident and emergency unit at the Juaso District Hospital.
