Commander of Allied Air Forces in Northern Europe visits Ghana

Accra, Dec. 17, GNA - General Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong, Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe; Commander, Allied Air Forces Northern Europe; and Air Commander, U.S European Command, Ramstein Air Base, Germany is in Ghana for visit.

A release by the Press Attach?, Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy in Accra said General Foglesong is in Ghana as part of a seven-nation African tour.

His visit, the release said, indicated the ongoing US commitment to US -Ghanaian military cooperation.

While in Accra, General Foglesong had discussions with the Minister of Defence, Dr Kwame Addo Kufuor and Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant General Seth Obeng at the Burma Camp.

General Foglesong earned his wing at Columbus Air Force base, Mississippi. His aviation career includes more than 4,000 flying hours, primarily in fighter and training assignments in theF-16; F-15; A-10 and AT/T -38.

He has also been a commander six times. His staff tours include duty as Assistant to the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, DC; Deputy Chief of staff for Air and Space Operations and Vice Chief of staff at Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
