Community One Police organise send-off for Supt Awuni

Tema, Sept. 13, GNA - Superintendent Angwubutoge Awuni, out-going District Police Commander of Tema Community One, on Saturday called on men and women in the police service to ensure that "we do the right thing in the face of all difficulties, even in the face of persecution."

He said "truth is like a cork, no matter how you submerge it under water, it will still come up, that is why when you know that you are right in the decision that you have taken, you must be prepared to face the consequences."

Supt. Awuni, who has been transferred to Yendi as the Divisional Commander, was speaking at a send-off party organised in his honour by the Tema District Police Command over the weekend.

He advised junior personnel in the Police Service to regard senior officers as role models, and therefore strive to work hard to achieve honours.

The Yendi Divisional Commander stated that people in positions of trust should use dialogue to solve cases that are reported to them instead of resorting to confrontation and unnecessary threats. Supt. Awuni expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his subordinates at the Community One office, whose support and co-operation in the past two years, has enabled him to achieve high working standards, and also earned him promotion to head a division.

He urged them to offer the same co-operation to his successor, and to continue to show high sense of discipline in their endeavours. The District Command and some well wishers presented the Yendi Divisional Commander and his wife with a number of parcels.
