Community inaugurates council for development

Kusi-Kade, (E/R) March 30, GNA - Dr. Osaforo-Adu-Amankwa, Kwaebibirim District Co-ordinating Director has advised the people that as citizens, they should ensure that they exercise their franchise any time there are elections in the country. Dr. Osaforo-Adu Amankwa gave the advice, when inaugurating a 13-member council for projects and development for Kusi township at Kusi near Kade in the Kwaebibirim District, at the week-end. He said distribution of projects in an area depends on population of people in that area and by registering, the population of a place could easily be determined, therefore when people do not register their names, one could not easily determine the people in that area.

That could also affect them in terms of distribution and allocations of projects to people in that area. He also informed the people that the government was doing everything possible to raise the standard of living of the people, especially in the rural areas.

Dr. Osaforo Adu-Amankwah said the district assembly has put up a 20-unit water closet place of convenience for the people of Kusi and its surrounding villages. He therefore, advised them to also contribute their quota for the government to achieve its aims.

Nana Akese Appiah III, Chief of the town advised the people to pay their contributions of 40,000 cedis per head towards the water supply project estimated at over 100,000 cedis million earmarked for the town. Dr George Oduro Nkansah, the secretary for the newly formed council on behalf of the members thanked the people for the confidence reposed in them. He gave the assurance that they would all contribute immensely to move the town forward.
