Prophet Dr Eric Nana Kwasi Amponsah, General Overseer of Hope Generation Ministries International has called on politicians to demonstrate a high level of tolerance to ensure peace in the country at all times.
He noted that Ghanaians acknowledged the desire for politicians to serve their country, but they should know that Ghana belongs to all of us.
Prophet Amponsah, also known as ‘Computer Man’ was speaking at the launch of this year’s conference of the church at Oblogo-Manchester, near Weija in the Greater-Accra Region.
The six-day Conference, dubbed: ‘Operation Fire Your Enemies, ’ which begins on Tuesday, March 24, is aimed at praying for peace ahead of next year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections, and also for the economic stability of the nation.
Prophet Amponsah said the situation where some politicians uttered inflammatory words anytime they came on the airwaves was killing Ghana’s infant democracy.
Good politicians, he said, were those who did not insult and lie, but presented their views based on what they could do.
“Politics as I know, is a service to the people,” he said, adding that politics is not based on greed, corruption and selfishness.
The General Overseer said there are politicians who desired to serve and not to be served while there are others whose aim was to enrich themselves at the expense of the people.
Prophet Amponsah, therefore, tasked politicians to refrain from giving promises they cannot fulfill.
He advised pastors to desist from acts that may tarnish the image of their vocation, and also ensure that they remained committed to the social needs of their members.
Apostle Samuel Baah, from United Kingdom and Prophet Ita Dominic, of Nigeria are expected to give talks at the conference .
A number of people who received instant healing during a prayer session gave testimonies and showered praised unto the Lord God Almighty.
