The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has once again been rocked by confusion over what victims have described as a vindictive massive transfers of staff.

According to information available to MyNewsGh.com, two of the staff have been transferred by the current Vice Chancellor, Reverend Professor Anthony Afful-Broni two times within a year first from Winneba to Adjumako and now Mampong.

A lot of administrative staff were transferred before and close about 50 have been transferred to Ajumako, Mampong and Kumasi with hints that more who are averse to the leadership style of the current Vice Chancellor will go.

Letters of transfers sighted by MyNewsGh.com take immediate effect with one of the staff said to be in court over a decision by management not to renew his contract.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has expressed disappointment in the conduct of the current Vice-Chancellor.

According to him, Rev. Afful-Broni has refused to do what is right by vacating his post for the former Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Avoke after he was exonerated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

He said Prof. Afful-Broni is aware of the EOCO report and therefore could not fathom why the Chancellor is behaving that way.

“My message to this Catholic father is that he should do unto others, what he wants others to do unto him. I will never allow Afful-Broni to embarrass me. It’s now time to speak up and won’t allow Afful-Broni to interfere in the affairs of the school.

“He is well aware of the EOCO report clearing Prof. Avoke and it’s now time for him to go. Just as I fought for others, I will fight Avoke and ensure that the right thing is done. One day, those who disagree with me will understand me very well,” he said angrily on Accra based Okay FM.
