The NPP is wishing its sister Party, the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom the best of luck in Tuesday’s polls and calling on the good people of the United Kingdom to renew the mandate of the Conservative Party and its Leader, Boris Johnson as the country goes to the polls next week Thursday, December 12, 2019.

According to the NPP, the governing Conservative Party has done a lot to deserve another term in office.

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) OF GHANA TO THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF THE UNITED KINGDOM AHEAD OF UK’S 2019 GENERAL ELECTIONS

As the United Kingdom (UK) goes to the polls on Thursday, December 12, 2019, I wish to, on behalf of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Ghana and on my own behalf, wish our sister party in the United Kingdom, the Conservative Party, the best of luck in the elections. The NPP and the Conservative Party both belong to the global alliance of centre-right political parties in the world, which is the International Democrat Union (IDU) and have had close working relationship with each other over the years.

It is the wish and anticipation of the NPP that the good people of the United Kingdom and in particular the electorates of the country will, on Tuesday, vote overwhelmingly for the Conservative Party and its Leader, Boris Johnson, who doubles as the current Prime Minister of UK, to renew the party’s mandate. It cannot be doubted that the UK, under the reins of the Conservative Party has witnessed and continues to witness major economic transformation and significant strides in its development pursuit.

Undoubtedly, the general elections of December 12, 2019, is said to be one of UK’s most charged and competitive elections of all-times for many reasons including the fact that the winner could finally settle the fate of Brexit, more than three years after the referendum, which matter has polarized the country and has still not been resolved. It is without doubt that the stakes are so high; the battle lines have been drawn between the Conservative Party and the main opposition, the Labour Party which is being led by Jeremy Corbyn.

The New Patriotic Party is however convinced that with the kind of work done by the governing Conservative Party over the years in transforming the economy of the United Kingdom and delivering prosperity to all its people across all walks of life, the discerning electorates of the country will, once again, reward the Conservative Party with another resounding victory at the polls.

Finally, the NPP wishes the United Kingdom and all its citizens the very best in the general elections. May the country, which also happens to be one of Ghana’s leading development partners, come out of the polls more United and Stronger.

..Signed…

John Boadu General Secretary
