Constitutional Review Commission (CRC)
Consultations with Ghanaians
in the United Kingdom


1. The Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) will hold consultations with Ghanaians living in the UK on Saturday 8th April, 2011 in London as follows:

London
• Venue: Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre

Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square
WC1H 0XG

• Date: Saturday, 8th April 2011

• Time: 6:00p.m. – 11:00p.m.

2. As you may already be aware the CRC was constituted by His Excellency Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana and mandated to undertake the following:

i. Ascertain from the people of Ghana, their views on the operations of the 1992 Fourth Republican Constitution and, in particular, the strengths and weaknesses of the Constitution;
ii. Articulate the concerns of the people of Ghana as regards the amendments that may be required for a comprehensive review of the 1992 constitution;
iii. Make recommendations to the Government for consideration; and
iv. Propose a draft bill for possible amendments to the 1992 Constitution.

3. In this connection, the London meeting aims at collating views from the community as part of the broad consultation process towards fulfilling the mandate

4. All Ghanaians living in the UK are therefore encouraged to attend and participate in the consultation process

5. Arrangements are on-going for another meeting to be held in Manchester and the Community would be duly informed of the details.
