Techiman (B/A), Feb. 2, GNA - A 20-year old trolley pusher at the central market in Techiman in Brong Ahafo had his head chopped off at the weekend by a metal container that he and colleagues were conveying on a truck.
The body of Nana Yaw-Osei, a citizen of Nkoranza has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman for autopsy. A driver, Effah Kodom Armstrong, has been placed in police custody pending investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of the pusher.
Chief Inspector Sampson Y. Jebuni in-charge of the Techiman Police told Ghana News Agency that Armstrong was instructed by Madam Comfort Konadu, a teacher and owner of the container, to send it to a place near the public toilet.
Chief Inspector Jebuni said at about 1400 hours on January 22 Armstrong and his friends obliged but on the way the container suddenly fell from the truck and trapped the deceased, killing him instantly. He said the deceased's colleagues, with the help of others at the market, managed to remove the body and sent it to the Holy Family Hospital.
