Ghana’s Aviation Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central, Mr. Joseph Kofi Adda, has urged the Muslim community in the area not to relent in their prayers for continuous peace, especially as we are in an election year.

Mr. Adda said peace and security are essential for development and must always be put first and sought from Allah.

Mr. Adda who made the call through Daniel Kansake, a member of his campaign team when he presented some food items to the Muslim community in Navrongo on the MP’s behalf, as they celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr this weekend, said it was the MP’s hope Allah would recognize and accept their prayers.

“It is his (MP) hope and prayer that Allah will recognize and accept your prayers so that we continue to live peacefully as a community and take our municipal in terms of development beyond where it is now”.

Mr. Kansake on the MP’s behalf congratulated the Muslims for the successful completion of the Ramadan, urging them to let what the period of Fasting has taught them reflect in their lives. He prayed with the Muslims for Allah’s protection as they observe the celebration.

Mr. Adda, through his campaign member, again reminded the Muslims the need to continue to observe the President’s directive on social distancing and the other preventive protocols to fight the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The MP’s donation which is a routine saw the distribution of several bags of rice and boxes of cooking oil to the different sects of the Muslim community in the area.

Leadership of the sects thanked Mr. Adda for the kindness and prayed for him, the Navrongo area and the whole country.
