One of the founding fathers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mohammed Saani is on heels of former President Jerry John Rawlings describing him as a hypocrite as far as the investigative piece dubbed ‘Contracts for Sale’ by Journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni is concerned.
“The Rawlings you know has always been a hypocrite and I’m not surprised to hear that he says he is not aware of corruption in the NPP government”, he described the former military ruler who said he is unaware of the documentary which captures the private company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei selling government contracts.
“I want to ask Rawlings that was he officially informed of any corruption allegations during John Mahama’s time before he spoke”, Alhaji Mohammed Saani quizzed in an interview he granted to MyNewsGh.com in Kumasi.
Asked by journalists about what Mr. Rawlings made of the PPA rot on Saturday, 24 August 2019 while on his way to vote in the main opposition NDC’s parliamentary primaries recently, he responded “No, I haven’t” heard of it. I’m not keeping abreast with some of these events”, the NDC founder explained to the journalists, adding: “But I will; when I do, you can come back”.
However, Alhaji Mohammed Saani who is not enthused with the former President’s comment, said, he will send some evidence of corruption cases to Mr. Rawlings to see if he will comment on them or otherwise.
“I will arrange with Manasseh Azuri and give some of his works to Mr. Rawlings. Maybe he can then make some informed decision”, Alhaji Saani promised.
