Accra (GAR), July 11, - Nii Odartey Lamptey, an elder of the Osu Traditional Area, today refuted an allegation by the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) concerning a planned ins He described the statement as unfortunate and a fa bricated story calculated to bring division in the Osu traditional area. Speaking to the GNA in Accra, Nii Lamptey said what happened on Thursday at Osu was an installation of an Osu Chief Fisherman and not that of an Osu Mantse. He said it was unfortunate that armed policemen were sent to Osu to intimidate the people. Nii Lamptey called on the government and the RCC to cross-check any information they receive so as not to bring disunity in the area. Nii Sowah Akuma the Third, known in public life as Alfred Lantei Odartey, was onThursday installed as the new Osu Chief Fisherman. Nii Akuma, who succeeds Nii Sowah Akuma the Second, will be outdoored on Saturday, July 12 at Osu. It will be recalled that an Accra daily on Thursday said a section of people of Osu are planning to install a new chief.
