Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director General of Ghana Health Service has revealed that about 300 professionals have been engaged to conduct government’s enhanced contact tracing exercise aimed at managing the spread of COVID-19 in Ghana.

Speaking at this morning’s Press Briefing held by the Ministry of Information, Dr Aboagye said the officers have been deployed to areas of confirmed cases across the country to ensure that government’s enhanced testing and contact tracing becomes a success.

As part of measures to effectively manage the spread of coronavirus in Ghana, the government has indicated that it is ramping up its testing mechanisms through an enhanced testing measure.

The new measure is to ensure that all contacts of confirmed cases and persons who arrived in the country within a specified period are tested. The exercise is to also ensure that some persons in hotspot areas are picked up and tested based on surveillance.

Ghana’s case count of COVID-19 as at this morning stands at 204 confirmed cases including 5 deaths, 3 recoveries and a good number said to be reporting well to treatment
