Ghana’s Minister of Defense, Dominic Aduna Bingab Nitiwul has allegedly been quarantined for fourteen days after an official visit to South Korea, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.
Even though the Minister has not shown any signs and symptoms of the deadly coronavirus, it is gathered that the move is a precautionary measure to ensure that he did not contract the virus while in that country that has also been hit by the disease.
As a result, the Member of Parliament(MP) for the Bimbilla constituency in the Northern Region would not be able to attend today’s vetting of parliamentary aspirants in the Northern Region as was earlier arranged.
“He returned from an official trip to South Korea some days ago and as a precautionary measure, we have decided that he should not come in person for the vetting. We will use another means to vet him. You know South Korea is one of the area that has been hit by the novel Coronavirus”, an official of the vetting committee confirmed to MyNewsGh.com.
Asked if the Minister was quarantined in a health facility or his home, he declined further comment except to say he would be out of the public space for 14 days.
